About us
Dedicated to cultural exchange programs since 1999, Universal Student Exchange (USE) sends over 3,000 international participants each year to the United States to have a life changing experience through
Department of State recognized J1 programs including Work and Travel, Internship/Trainee and Teachers. USE has offices in Argentina, Chile and Peru and several other partners within Latin America and Spain.
In total, USE´s staff is comprised of employees with experience in exchange programs, all working together to create positive experiences for both employers and exchange visitors.
What is Teach USA?
The Teach USA program allows licensed teachers the opportunity to work in paid positions at
qualified schools within the United States for up to 3 years through the J1 Visa. Teachers may instruct grades
K-12 while living multicultural experiences which enhances their ability to become professors with a global perspective.
You will have the opportunity to travel with your family (spouse and children under 18 years old) and obtain a work permit for your spouse.

Age
Starting at 25 years old.

Minimum Education Level
-Bachelor´s Degree (or higher) in Kinder/Primary/Secondary Education and/or Special Education.
-Meet the minimum requirements necessary to teach in kinder, primary or high school in your home country.
Work Experience
If you are currently Teaching: A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience is required.
If you are not currently teaching:At least 24 months (2 years) of qualified experience in the last 8 years and you must have obtained an advanced degree within 12 months prior to the date of application to the program.
Certificates/Examinations/Licenses
Requirements vary depending on the school district and the sponsor. It is advisable to list all relevant certifications and diplomas you have obtained.

Allows exchange teachers to enhance their professional skills through:
- The observation and implementation of new techniques and methodology.
- Cultural exchange within the school and community.
- Allows the teacher to understand US culture, society and teaching standards to implement their newfound knowledge when they return to teach in their countries.
- Encourage cultural exchange between international teachers and US students, in order to bridge cultural gaps among countries.
- Teach and show US students about other cultures and customs.
- This program permits J1 Teachers to travel with his/her spouse and dependents (under 21 years old) on the J2 visa. J2 visa holders of legal working age can apply for an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) that grants them permission to work while in the US.
- Allows qualified professionals to obtain a paid position and teach at a qualifying US school.
- Improves Resume: by building international experience and knowledge of new methodology implemented in the US School System.
- Increase employment possibilities upon return to home country and the ability to share new teaching techniques in local schools.
- Opportunity to receive the same salary that a US Teacher would receive in accordance with qualifications and experience.
